Wearing the sombrero to celebrate my 34th birthday!Last year, I started a “33 Before 33” list that contained a list of 33 I wanted to hit before my 33rd birthday. Although I didn’t hit all of my in my 33rd year, this was a lot of fun and I am adding a 34th goal to my list this year. I am a very goal oriented person and undoubtably achieved a few of those items because of the public list.

The following are my 34 goals to complete by the time I turn 34. I’ve added some new goals and carried over some goals over from last year’s list. But the rules are the same and this list will change throughout the year. And without further ado, I am excited to present: My 34 Before 34!

  1. Run races in 2 states other than Ohio – Florida and Kentucky
  2. Run the Dopey Challenge at Disney World
  3. Run a sub-4:30 marathon – Miami Marathon – 4:15:20, ORRRC Marathon – 4:15:00, Flying Pig Marathon – 4:25:38
  4. Run in at least 5 marathons – Air Force Marathon, Columbus Marathon, Disney World Marathon, Miami Marathon, ORRRC Marathon, and Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon
  5. Run a marathon in a different state – Disney World Marathon, Miami Marathon, Flying Pig Marathon
  6. Run an Ultra-Marathon – Playin’ Possum 50k
  7. Run Playin Possum 50k in under 6:30 – Finished in 6:36:54
  8. Run a half-marathon in a different state – Disney World Half Marathon
  9. Run a sub-1:50 half marathon
  10. Run in a new Columbus area park – numerous parks
  11. Switch to clipless bike pedals
  12. Complete a Sprint Triathlon
  13. Run 1,200 Miles – Hit 1,200 on June 13th
  14. Bike 500 miles – Hit this mark on May 31, 2015
  15. Complete a 50 mile bike ride – May 25, 2015
  16. Maintain average weight of 185 pounds for the year – Easily done. Max sustained weight was 186
  17. Visit 3 Ohio landmarks and snag a picture – Ludwig Mill, Fallen Timbers Monument, O’Shaughnessy Dam and Bridge
  18. Attend a Tigers game – Tigers versus Indians (Progressive Field, September 1st, 2014)
  19. Attend a Notre Dame Football game – Notre Dame vs. Louisville (Notre Dame Stadium, November 22nd, 2014)
  20. Get a road bike
  21. Read at least 3 books – Insurgent, The Design of Everyday Things
  22. Payoff credit cards
  23. Install accent lights in family room over fireplace
  24. Replace back patio door
  25. Plan updates to patio
  26. Plan house remodeling
  27. Replace Garage Door
  28. Setup new fish tank
  29. Switch from Sprint to Verizon
  30. Explore new career opportunities – Accepted a new position at Cardinal Health on the Digital Marketing team
  31. Complete Strength Finder – 1. Strategic, 2. Responsibility, 3. Relator, 4. Restorative, 5. Individualization
  32. Visit the Atlantic Ocean – South Beach Miami, January 2015
  33. Visit Disney World – July and January
